Professor at the department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Thessaly University Dimitris Kouretas argued that Greece can achieve the production of unique nutrition profile for its products, what is called “Greek brand name”, speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency radio’s station “Praktoreio 104.9 FM” on Monday.
Referring to the country’s position in the global food market, as it is being formed, the head of the reasearch group of Animal Physiology – Toxicology said that taking into consideration Greece’s biodiversity, its products can be used as raw material in the production of innovative product, attractive to the consumer that may be exported as unique Greek products after a basic proccessing.
In both cases, according to Kouretas, Greece can attain the production of a unique final nutrition product what he called “Greek brand name” something that in order to be completed it needs a “major mobilisation between several ‘players’. This strategy demand the appropriate drawing and research for each product and the participation and cooperation of all involved rings of the chain of primary sector as distribution and processing as well as in the promotion in retail sector,” explained Kouretas.
