Easter activities at the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens

The Byzantine and Christian Museum prepares to celebrate Easter by providing visitors theme guided tours and educational activities.

Guided tours

The museum’s archaeologists will guide visitors through its permanent exhibition, highlighting selected exhibits related to the iconographic cycle of Passion and the Resurrection of Christ in Byzantine art.

Tour program:

  • Lazarus Saturday, 03/31: 12:00pm
  • Palm Sunday, 04/01: 10:30
  • Holy Tuesday, 04/03: 12:00pm
  • Holy Wednesday 04/04: 12:00pm

Admission to the guided tours is free; a ticket purchase for entrance to the museum is required.

Educational activities

On Palm Sunday, April 1 (11:00am and 12:00pm), Easter workshops will be held for children 10-11 years old.

Young guests will discover scenes from the Passion and Resurrection of Christ in post-Byzantine iconography, and afterwards they will make their own Easter creations.

Participation in the workshops is for free.
