The construction of a Holocaust Museum in Thessaloniki was the focus of a meeting between Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris and Germany’s Minister of State for Europe Michael Roth, held in Berlin. Speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Wednesday, after the meeting, Boutaris noted it had been very useful, providing an opportunity to review and update procedures and pending issues relating to the museum’s construction and agree on how to proceed from now on.
“By the end of the year, certain amounts of money will be given by the German government to cover the needs that arise until the museum’s construction begins,” Boutaris clarified.
