Greek and foreign doctors have participated in a special ceremony on the island of Kos to renew their Hippocratic Oath.
The medics were on the island during the weekend as part of an international conference on health tourism.
Kos island is the birthplace of Hippocrates, often called the ‘father of medicine’.
Addressing the conference, the president of the Global Institute of Greek Doctors, George Patoulis, proposed the creation of a new ‘Hippocrates Cluster’ that would merge health units and clinics all over Greece interested in offering services to medical tourists from around the world.
