Earth life evolution evidence from fossilised forest on Greek island of Lesvos

A conference on “Fossilised forests: evidence of the evolution of life on earth, examples from Lesvos and China” will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 7.30 pm at the premises of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest in Sigri, ANA reports.

The lecture will take place in English and there will also be translation into Greek.

It will present the latest research findings on the significance of fossil forests discovered in both Greece and China. At the same time, there will be a presentation of results enhancing understanding of the evolution of life on our planet, as well as the cooperation between the research teams of the Aegean University and the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest with the corresponding research teams of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing University.
