First private naval high school to open on Greek island of Chios in September

The first private naval high school (lyceum) in Greece will open on Chios island in September, according to an official presentation of the new school at the Maria Tsakos Foundation on the North Aegean island on Tuesday, ANA reports.

Captain Panagiotis Tsakos, shipowner and founder of the “Tsakos Hellenic Schools of Naval Training” referred to the technology and knowhow that has become part of naval education and life and to the long maritime tradition of Greece, adding that “nothing can replace the seamanship of a Greek sailor, and this is what the credibility and capabilities of Greek seamen is based on”.
