Health Tourism in Greece Conference at the London School of Economics

Greece’s Health Tourism  prospects and opportunities will be presented  at a conference that will be held at the LSE in London on Friday, organized by  Greece’s International Health Tourism Center and the Hellenic Medical Society of UK . The conference is held under the auspices of  the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism,  Athens Medical Association, the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, the Hellenic Medical Tourism Council and the World Institute of Greek Doctors.

Experts of the scientific and academic community of Greece and the United Kingdom  have been invited  to attend the event, as well as specialists of the fields of Business, Health and Tourism. Presidents and representatives of Greek communities, Greek Medical Associations, and health and tourism professionals  are also invited to participate at the conference, that will present the latest updates, the comparative advantages  and  the prospects  of  Greece’s    initiative for the development of  Health Tourism, and its contribution to the national  economy on the “post-memorandum” era of the austerity- hit country. 

The conference will be held on November 23, 2018 , 18.00, at the London School of Economics in London .

Patoulis, President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece ( KEDE) President of Athens Medical Association(ISA), President of National Council  Health Tourism of Greece, President and founder of the International Health Tourism Center(IHTC)  as well as of the Global Institute of Greek Doctors ,  stated :

The Hellenic Medical Society of the United Kingdom (HMS UK) is a charity organization that was founded in London in 1985 and for more than 30 years has been promoting knowledge in the field of Medical Sciences. A number of high profile Medical Doctors of Greek origins have contributed over the years towards this purpose.

The  President HMS UK  Miltiadis Krokidis MD, PhD, EBIR, FCIRSE, FRCR, FSIR, Consultant Vascular and Interventional Radiologist underlined that  purpose of the International Health Tourism Center and the Hellenic Medical Society interaction is to exchange views on how Medical Tourism can be best developed in Greece using the expertise from the UK in developing high standard healthcare services and in offering innovative, minimal invasive, cutting-edge treatment for international patients.
