The film “Green Book”, a true anti-racist story by 62-year-old director Peter Farrelly, won Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards, int.ert.gr reports.
Alfonso Cuaron’s “Roma” won three Oscars: Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Foreign Language Film. It is the first time in Oscar’s history that Mexico wins its first-ever foreign-language Oscar.
British actress Olivia Colman won the Best Actress Oscar for her oustanding performance in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Favourite”. The film had received ten nominations in total. “Yorgos, you are the best director with the best movie. Emma (Stone) and Rachel (Weisz), you made me happy every day,” said Colman at her acceptance speech. The British actress thanked her agent, her family, her children who attending the ceremony at home, and her husband and best friend for 20 years.
The 45-year-old actress has also won Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, the Leading Actress BAFTA Award, as well as more than 30 American Critics’ awards.
