The NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday signed Kostas Antetokounmpo, the younger brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, to a two-way contract after claiming him off waivers from the Dallas Mavericks, according to greekreporter.com.
Kostas Antetokounmpo, 21, appeared in two games for the Dallas Mavericks during 2018-19, playing 11 total minutes and scoring two points.
The younger Antetokounmpo brother, who will likely spend most of the season with the G League’s South Bay Lakers, stays a major developmental prospect.
American media are speculating that the signing indicates that the Lakers are laying the groundwork to make a move for the Greek Freak himself when he is scheduled to hit free agency during the 2021 offseason.
