There is little rest for Australia’s newly-elected His Eminence Archbishop Makarios before his next journey, after his busy two-week visit to Melbourne, according to greekreporter.com.
This time he will be making his way to Adelaide in South Australia, in order to meet with the Greek Orthodox community there.
The Archbishop’s first pastoral visit to South Australia following his enthronement in June will be on Saturday, August 31.
His Eminence’s five-day schedule includes participating in a number of official and community events where he will meet with local people as well as key stakeholders of the city of Adelaide.
These visits are a significant part of welcoming the new Archbishop to the shores of Australia and are part of a broader pastoral tour he is taking to major cities around the country.
The busy schedule for Archbishop Makarios’ Adelaide visit is as follows:

- 3:00 PM Doxology Service St. Nectarios Monastery
- 4:00 PM Visit St. Basil’s Croydon Park

Sunday September 1: Father’s Day
- 8:00 AM Liturgy St. George Church
- 4:00 PM Visit St. Basil’s St Peters
Monday September 2
- 9:00 M Visit St Dimitrios Church
- 10:15 AM Visit St Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Church
- 11:30 AM Visit Prophet Elias Church
