The Hellenic Olympic Committee announced that Olympic shooting champion Anna Korakaki will be the first torchbearer at the lighting ceremony of the Olympic flame for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 on March 12, 2020, in ancient Olympia, ANA reports.
As the competitors will enter the stadium for the Olympic opening ceremony in Tokyo, the Greek team will lead the way in symbolic acknowledgment of the nation’s unique place in the history of the Games, both ancient and modern.
