Among the many original series it is working on, Netflix plans to release a new anime show based on Greek mythology titled “Blood of Zeus”. It will premiere on the streaming service on October 27, according to greekreporter.com.
The story, originally titled “Gods & Heroes”, follows a commoner named Heron, and is set against the backdrop of the epic war between the Olympian gods and the Titans.
During the course of the story, Heron discovers secrets from his past that make him humanity’s last hope against dark forces working against them. Several characters from Greek mythology make their appearance in the series, including the twelve Olympian gods and the fates.
“Blood of Zeus” was written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, and directed by Shaunt Nigoghossian. Plenty of Greek and Greek-American voice actors make an appearance in the show, including Melina Kanakaredes, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Elias Toufexis.
Even though the show is animated, it’s not just for kids, as is evident from its complex plot and incredible action sequences.
