The initiatives taken by Greek universities in the fields of education, research, and innovation, the extroversion of higher education, and the study programs offered by Greek universities to the Greek Diaspora and foreign nationals, are some of the topics that will be discussed during the online conference Reinforcing Bridges between Greek Universities and the Greek Diaspora on Sunday, January 24, 2:30 PM Athens time/ 7:30 AM EST.
The conference will be held on the occasion of the celebration of the World Education Day and the Bicentennial of the 1821 Greek Revolution and is organized by the General Secretariat for Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Greek government officials, representatives of Diaspora Greek Orthodox Churches, Greek university professors, prominent Greeks of the Diaspora who are graduates of Greek universities as well as representatives of Greek organizations abroad will participate.
Minister of Education and Religious Affairs Niki Kerameus, Deputy Minister for Diaspora Greeks Konstantinos Vlasis, Deputy Minister for Higher Education Angelos Syrigos, Chairman of the Special Standing Committee for Greeks Abroad Savvas Anastasiadis, Secretary-General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad Ioannis Chryssoulakis, and General Secretary for Higher Education Apostolos Dimitropoulos will address the conference.
