Cosco Shipping offered the copy of a container transport ship to the Chios Maritime Museum on Thursday during a visit of the president of the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) to the island, ANA reports.
The gift was handed over to the Maritime Museum by the president of OLP, Yu Zenggang, following an initiative taken by the former Ambassador of China to Greece, Zhang Qiyue.
After touring the museum, Yu Zenggang addressed a greeting noting the great maritime tradition, history, and heritage of Chios, but also the major contribution of the island to the field of shipping in Greece and worldwide. He also stressed that Greece and China have been pioneers for a long time and know in depth the maritime issues and that is why they must together lead the developments for the future of shipping worldwide.
