Deputy Education Minister: High vaccination rate in Greek universities encouraging

Deputy Education Minister Angelos Syrigos welcomed the high vaccination rate among the students, academic and administrative staff in Greek tertiary education, calling it an encouraging factor as the ministry works for the resumption of in-person attendance once the academic year begins in two weeks time, according to ANA.
He said that 70 pct of students have received at least one dose of a vaccine, while 91 pct of teaching staff and 87 pct of administrative staff are fully vaccinated.
Syrigos pointed out that the high percentage of vaccinated students was a “political message”, in which theology students were the exception with a vaccination rate of 55 pct.
