Snow fell in parts of Greece including Attica

Rainfall and snowfall at low altitudes have been observed this morning in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, which will gradually weaken in the afternoon, according to the meteo of the National Observatory of Athens, protothema.gr reports.

The local rains and snowfalls in the mountains, mainly above the 1,000 meters altitude that also occur in eastern Thessaly, eastern Sterea, and the Aegean islands, will continue throughout Tuesday and at intervals in the central phenomena will be strongly (especially in eastern Thessaly and Evia).

Storms are not ruled out in the Aegean Sea, while the winds will be further strengthened and will reach seven Beaufort from northern directions.

Local rains are forecast in Athens, too. The temperature will have a maximum value of around 11 to 13 degrees Celsius. Snowfall will occur in the northern mountains (indicative altitude 1,000 meters).
