Italians dominate Stage 2 of the ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas in central Greece

Cyclists completed the second stage of the five-day cycling race ‘ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas’ covering 165 km from the Olympic Stadium in Athens to Itea, central Greece, on Thursday, ANA reports.

The cyclists raced through Thebes, Aliartos, Livadia, Distomo, and Desfina. 

Winners of the stage included Matteo Moschetti (on the Trek-Segafredo team) in the first place, Andrea Perron (Novo Nordisk) in second, and Filippo Tagliani (Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli), all Italian cyclists.
Leading in the cumulative results of the two stages so far is New Zealander Aaron Gate (Bolton Equities Black Spoke).

The third stage will take place on Friday, and covers 170.7 km from Delphi to Lamia and Karditsa. Contestants will start at the Delphi Museum before ending up in Karditsa. They will go through Chrisso, Eleonas, Amfissa, Voxites, Gravia, Bralos, Lamia, Lianokladi, and Trilofo before concluding in Karditsa, central Greece.

Wednesday’s race was on Crete: Heraklion, then through Rethymno to Chania, a distance of 179 km. 
The entire tour involves 18 teams with 133 cyclists, representing 5 continents and 26 countries, and covers a total of 846.6 km in five stages. Participants will be crossing 28 cities, and are scheduled to finish the tour on May 1 in the city of Ioannina, NW Greece. The race is being broadcast by 46 TV stations around the world, and ANA-MPA is a media sponsor.
