Repair works at the fire-stricken Balikli Greek Hospital in Istanbul are expected to be completed in three months’ time, it was reported on Wednesday, ΑΝΑ reports.
The fire broke out on August 4, 2022, and destroyed the roof of the philanthropic institution’s historic building. The hospital’s 62 elderly residents and 42 patients had been evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Repairs at Balikli Greek Hospital began on September 22, 2022, with funds donated by the Greek-American community and also by Greek associations and bodies; among those was a donation of 50,000 euros by RAMCM.
