The Hellenic Cultural Society of South Florida presents the South Florida Greek Film Festival October 14-15 at Savor Cinema, 503 SE 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale, and October 21 at Cosford Cinema, 5030 Brunson Drive in Coral Gables. The Film Festival is held under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in Tampa.
The Hellenic Cultural Society’s Film Program celebrates and promotes the work and talent of established and emerging Greek, Cypriot, and Greek/Cypriot heritage filmmakers.
At the South Florida Greek Film Festival and at Film Nights, screenings of full-length films, documentaries, shorts, and discussions, provide opportunities to connect, inspire, entertain, and share the richness of the Greek culture. All screenings have English subtitles.
The Festival program includes the award-winning My Name is Eftihia, screening on Saturday, October 14, at 6 PM. The film highlights the extraordinary life of Eftihia Papayanopoulou and her contributions to Greek music.
