The 14th Ethnofest – Athens Ethnographic Film Festival opens on November 29 and will be on until December 10, ANA reports.
This edition of the festival pays tribute to the promotion and safeguarding of the world’s cultural heritage with screenings, open discussions, and screening of two classic short documentaries: “The Goat Dance” (1971) by Pantelis Voulgaris and the “Feast in Drapetsona” (1977) by Takis Papagiannidis.
Over 30 films are part of this year’s program and run through the festival’s sections of Panorama, Filmic Experiments, and International and Greek Student Films. Parallel events include open discussions and book presentations.
The festival is organized under the auspices and with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture, 20 years after the proclamation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, it was noted in the official announcement.
