PM: More than 80 hospitals and 156 health centres being upgraded in Greece

Over 400 million euros have been budgeted for planned upgrades to 80 hospital units and 156 health centers throughout the country, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday during a visit to the Metaxa General Anticancer Hospital of Piraeus, ANA reports.
The prime minister was briefed on the progress of work to renovate and modernise the hospital’s facilities, in the presence of Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Alternate National Economy and Finance Minister Nikos Papathanassis.
“Step by step, we are building the new National Health System, which we have envisioned and which all Greek women and men deserve. Today, in this flagship anticancer hospital, we see a small aspect of a much larger construction project, which extends throughout the country. Eighty hospitals, 156 health centers, with a budget that exceeds 400 million euros and financing from the Recovery Fund, are changing the face of primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare infrastructure in our country,” the prime minister said.
