Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Wednesday. According to a statement from the Ministry, Mendoni was briefed on the progress of the conservation work being carried out by the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM) at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Fener, ANA reports.
Mendoni also had a private meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
After this, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Mendoni toured the renovated building of the Marasleion School in Fener and received updates on the conservation work being performed on both the iconostasis and the holy icons of the Patriarchal Church of St. George.
