The Municipal Public Benefit Enterprise of Nisyros has decided to display the Nisyros Geopark at the Kos “Ippokrates” airport for this year’s summer tourist season.
In particular, the Nisyros Geopark is one of the most important geological and natural monuments in Greece while offering unique experiences to visitors through its natural beauty, geological significance, and cultural heritage.
According to the proposal of the President, Mr. Evangelos Tasioulas on the issue of promotion, the promotion of the Nisyros Geopark at the Kos “Ippokrates” airport is considered necessary in order to strengthen the tourist flow to the region and to exploit the opportunities offered by the tourism market for the period of 2025.
Furthermore, the President stated that the island of Kos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Dodecanese, with thousands of visitors landing at the “Ippokrates” airport every year. The geographical proximity of the Nisyros Geopark can facilitate easy access from Kos, making it the ideal destination for day trips.

In addition, the promotion of the Geopark will contribute to raising awareness about the importance of protecting the natural environment. Finally, according to the decision, through the implementation of targeted promotional actions, Kos can benefit from the unique geological and cultural heritage of Nisyros, making the area an attractive tourist destination.
