The newly built conference center of Theartemis Palace Hotel in Rethymno was visited by the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, as part of her tour of Crete.
It is a state-of-the-art conference center of high technical and operational standards, with social and environmental international certification, with a capacity of 600 people, with multi-modal facilities suitable to host conferences, seminars, and various promotional events.
Theartemis Palace Hotel & Conference Center is located in the center of the city of Rethymno and is another important addition to the collective local effort to enhance the image of Rethymno and Crete as a destination for high-standard international conferences.

As Ms. Kefalogianni emphasized, this private tourism investment constitutes a substantial step for the city of Rethymno towards sustainable tourism development through the dissemination of specific target groups outside the peak tourist season, while contributing to the further stimulation and resilience of the local economy.
The Minister of Tourism also met with the Board of Directors of the Rethymno Hoteliers Association, discussing with them the main issues of concern to tourism in the prefecture. The Association even submitted a memorandum with its positions on the main issues concerning the island and affecting tourism development.

Ms. Kefalogianni, in her statements, emphasized the promotion of public infrastructure that is being upgraded and will positively affect tourism. He particularly focused on the VOAK, which is finally in the implementation phase, and on the upgrade of Chania airport, which can play a decisive role in extending the tourist season.
