Another European Erasmus+ program implemented by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICH) was completed with absolute success and enthusiasm in Chania, with the code name “Project code: 2024-1-IT01-KA121-VET-000206170”, focusing on the tourism sector of the prefecture.
The project, which was carried out between June 8 and July 6, 2025, concerned the implementation of apprenticeship/training of 17 Italian students from the Education and Training Center of the Umbria Region of Italy, in tourism businesses in the Prefecture of Chania. The aim was to acquire professional qualifications, skills, and experiences through the active participation of students in a real work environment, in order to strengthen the connection between theory and practice in the tourism sector.
At the same time, the program contributed decisively to the development of transnational cooperation between educational institutions, the exchange of good practices in education and training, as well as the strengthening of friendship and cultural exchange between Greece and Italy.
The closing ceremony of the project took place on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the MAICH Conference Center, where the official apprenticeship certificates were awarded to the participating Italian students. A particularly warm atmosphere prevailed at the event, while the guests had the opportunity to try traditional Cretan products, enjoying a last taste of the hospitality of Crete.
MAICH, with a steady presence in European mobility programs, continues to offer significant opportunities to young people, promoting their professional development through the experience of international cooperation, while at the same time strengthening local entrepreneurship with new ideas, knowledge, and skills.
