Jet2holidays recently announced its mammoth program for Greece in the summer of 2025, with three million seats for sale and 1,500 partner hotels.
It has now announced an extension of the season to Chania and Kalamata in 2026, starting the season to the two destinations earlier than ever, in early April next year. As it stated, this extension is due to demand from holidaymakers and travel agents.
Specifically, the first departures from English airports will begin on April 3, 2026 for Chania and on April 5, 2026 for Kalamata. The programme includes flights to Chania from Birmingham, Manchester and Stansted airports and to Kalamata from Manchester and Stansted airports.
The new flights, for which sales have already opened, include an additional weekly service every Friday from Birmingham to Chania, for the period from 3 April to 24 April, in addition to the airline’s existing twice-weekly flights from Birmingham, from May to 30 October.
From Manchester, there will be additional twice-weekly flights on Tuesdays and Fridays to Chania from 3 April to 28 April as well as an additional Sunday service to Kalamata from 5 April to 26 April. Jet2 already offers up to three weekly flights to Chania from May to October from the airport and two weekly flights to Kalamata from May to early November.
Other new flights, offered at a discount this season, include an additional Tuesday flight from Stansted to Crete from April 7 to April 28 and additional Sunday flights from Stansted to Kalamata from April 5 to April 26. Jet2 already has up to three weekly flights to Chania from May to October from Stansted and up to two weekly flights to Kalamata from May to early November.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “Kalamata and Chania in Crete are hugely popular destinations and we continue to see strong demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to book or travel early in the summer season or over Easter.
“As always, we responded quickly to this demand by extending the 2026 summer season, providing customers with the vacation options they want.”
