The 10th TUI International Rhodes Marathon will be held on Sunday, April 6, with a record number of participants: over 4,300 runners from 60 countries, with 30% of adult participants from abroad and 45% women. The race, dedicated to the ancient Roditissa Kallipateira, integrates the history, culture, and nature of Rhodes, offering a unique experience on a coastal route with the Aegean Sea and the medieval walls of the city as a backdrop.
At the press conference, the president of the organizing committee, Marietta Papavassiliou, highlighted the evolution of the race from 2014 to the present, with the support of TUI, which offers access to millions of travelers and specialized packages for runners. The collaboration with TUI gives Rhodes international exposure, with the event being broadcast live on ERT3 and worldwide via live streaming.
The race is under the auspices of SEGAS, AIMS, and IAAF, while top Greek and foreign athletes participate. The TUI Care Foundation will support schools on the island with environmental actions through the Junior Academy program. The 700 volunteers who assist in the organization also play an important role.
The medal and the poster of the race honor Kallipateira, reinforcing the message of equality and athletic ideals. The TUI Rhodes Marathon has now established itself as a leading institution of sports tourism, with international exposure and social contribution.
