Santorini back in the spotlight: Promotion campaign in the UK via Jet2holidays

The South Aegean Region and the British tour operator Jet2holidays have launched an extraordinary promotional campaign for Santorini in the UK. The campaign includes promotional and advertising actions for the island to potential visitors for the period up to and including September 30, 2025.

The advertising program includes:

Online advertising for Santorini via the Quantcast platform using display banners of various sizes. The campaign uses lookalike modeling to reach audiences with similar online behavior and interests in sun and beach holidays, gastronomy, culture, and history. This data will be used to find new audiences and encourage them to book holidays with Jet2holidays in Santorini. The minimum number of impressions to be achieved is 7,497,924.
Sending a Premium email promoting holidays in Santorini with Jet2holidays, to at least 61,988 recipients.
As part of the agreement, the Region will pay an amount of 20,000.00 euros in relation to the marketing activities undertaken by Jet2holidays.

The campaign is deemed necessary as Santorini is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with a significant contribution to the local and national economy. The leading tourist destination has been seriously affected by the image created by the earthquakes, causing concern among its international visitors.

The advertising campaign aims to highlight the beauty and attractiveness of Santorini and, through them, to achieve a halt to the negative image among potential and existing visitors, in order to protect the local economy of the island and, by extension, the national economy.
