For the first time, British tourists in Pieria via Jet2

The Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) participated in the international tourism exhibition in London “World Travel Market 2025”, from 4 to 6 November, enhancing the visibility of the destination “Olympus Riviera” and promoting the unique tourist experiences that the region offers.

The mission was attended by the Deputy Governor of Pieria, Ms. Sofia Mavridou, the President of the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization, Mr. Giorgos Karalis, and the member of the Board of Directors of the Organization, Mr. Stelios Ouzas, who presented the destination, its unique experiences and the main tourist points of interest to those interested. Through the rich printed and digital material, the natural beauties of Pieria and the rich history were highlighted, which place Pieria as a truly unique destination, combining history, culture, gastronomy, tourist infrastructure and alternative types of tourism, in the shadow of a world natural monument, Mount Olympus.

During the exhibition, Ms. Sofia Mavridou and Messrs. George Karalis and Stelios Ouzas made numerous contacts with leading tour operators, including the internationally renowned tour operator “Jet2”, with which P.O.T.A.P. has already begun cooperation. This cooperation will bring British visitors to Pieria for the first time in the new tourist season, further enhancing the promotion and economic development of the destination.

The President of the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization, Mr. George Karalis, who participated in the mission, stated characteristically: “Pieria has firmly entered the map of the British market. The agreement with the leading tour operator jet2 and the talks during the exhibition confirm that our region is “running” in British bookings better than we expected and thus the number of cooperating accommodations will soon increase. At the same time, meetings were held with major British agencies which will help in the coming years to increase the percentage of British visitors to the desired results. Our goal is to simultaneously increase the tourist season and diversify the mix of visitors and we are working intensively to achieve the goals”.

Participation in the exhibition highlights the strategy of P.O.T.A.P. for the continuous promotion of tourism and strengthening the presence of Pieria at an international level.
