Tourist activity at accommodation establishments across the country recorded an upward trend in October 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, confirming the strong performance of the shoulder season months.
According to provisional monthly data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on arrivals and overnight stays at hotels, campsites, and collective short-stay accommodation, arrivals in October 2025 reached 2.82 million, while overnight stays totaled 11.14 million.
On an annual basis, arrivals increased by 1.1% and overnight stays by 1.8%, reflecting steady demand for travel to Greece even during the autumn period.
The strengthening of tourist activity was driven mainly by international markets. Compared to October 2024, arrivals by foreign visitors increased by 1.2% and overnight stays by 2%. At the same time, positive growth was also recorded in the domestic market, with arrivals and overnight stays by Greek residents rising by 0.5%.
The contribution of international visitors remains decisive for overall tourism performance. According to ELSTAT data, visitors from abroad account for 76.9% of total arrivals and 86.7% of overnight stays across all accommodation types, confirming the leading role of international tourism in Greek hospitality.
At the same time, the average overall length of stay in October 2025 stood at 4 days, compared to 3.9 days in October 2024, reinforcing the image of a more “quality-oriented” tourism profile, with longer stays and increased destination spending.
October’s figures confirm that tourism activity in Greece remains resilient beyond the peak season, supporting the objective of extending the tourism period and steadily strengthening revenues across the country.
