SmartRental Group is strengthening its presence in the Greek hospitality market, and specifically in the field of serviced apartments and flex living in Athens, by launching a new serviced apartment investment project in the city center.
The SmartRental Group is advancing its presence in the Greek market and in the rapidly growing flex living model with the opening of a new unit in Athens in January 2026, under the Smartr Stays brand, which specializes in serviced apartments for short or medium-term stays.
The new Smartr Athens Tzavella is the group’s third project in the Greek capital. The new property will feature a total of 18 apartments, including six studios, seven superior studios, and five apartments.
Smartr Athens Tzavella is designed for travelers seeking greater independence and comfort without sacrificing the service standards that characterize the hotel industry.
This new project adds to SmartRental Group’s two other ventures in Greece: Akeah Athens City Center and SUIO Athens Piraeus – which is still under development. With the completion of these investments by the end of 2026, the group will have a hotel, a serviced apartment project, and the first flex living investment in the country.

As Borja Sanchez, Expansion Director of SmartRental Group, notes, Greece has now become a key growth driver for the group in Europe. “With the new Smartr, we reinforce our commitment to flexible hospitality models that respond to modern urban demand for freedom, design, and services in a single space,” he emphasizes.
SmartRental Group currently manages over 4,300 rooms and more than 5,000 beds across Europe, covering a wide range of products, from hotels and hostels to short-term rental accommodations and student housing.
As part of its international expansion plan, the company is strategically developing in markets such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Hungary, Germany, and Greece, steadily strengthening its footprint on the European hospitality map.
