A cruise management system, allowing for a maximum of 8,000 visitors a day is “installed” in Santorini after research conducted on the carrying capacity of the destination in relation to cruise ships. According to Greek Ports authorities, Santorini received 636 cruise ship arrivals in 2015 surpassing even the main national port of Piraeus. The number of passengers on cruise ships arriving on the island exceeded 790.000.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) seeks to rent properties in Athens to house refugees till the end of 2017, according to the Attica Association of Realtors that cooperate with Non Governmental Organization PRAKSIS under a program financed by the UNHCR.

The enhancement of tourism traffic from Israel to Crete and the growth of Cretan certified products exports to the Israeli market were discussed at the meeting between the Crete Region Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis and the Israeli ambassador to Greece Irit Ben Aba who visited the region.
The Crete Region representation returned confident from the FERIEFORALLE tourism exhibition held in Herning, Denmark between 26/02 to 02/28/2016 that Danes will continue to support this year the tourism product of Crete. Visitors’ turnout was stabilized around last year’s levels and reached about 62,000.
