Severe weather for next 72 hours in western and northern Greece

The Greek Meteorological Services have issues a severe weather warning alert for the regions of western Greece, the Ionian Sea and Thessaly for the next 72 hours.

The forecast speaks of heavy rains, string winds and hail.

The deterioration of the weather started on Saturday in Macedonia and the region of Epirus, while the patters are expected to spread to the rest of northern Greece, the Ionian and the west of the county down to Thessaly on Sunday.

The extreme weather phenomena will continue in to Monday before fading out on Tuesday.
