Greece’s National Defence Minister Panos Kammenos participated in the “Gordian Knot” military exercise of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Greece in Assiros, north of Thessaloniki, on Thursday.
“I am especially pleased about the Hellenic Armed Forces which carried out a large part of this exercise,” Kammenos said, pointing out that “of 1,200 armed forces members involved in the exercise, which is the largest executed in Athens on NATO level – 950 were members of the Greek armed forces.”
Asked to comment on the visit in Athens of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he said, “I am pleased with the presence of Turkish allied officers in the NATO exercise.”
