Revenue from tourism in October 2017 showed an increase of 4.2%, reaching €277 million compared to October 2016 when it was 266 million, according to the Cyprus Tourism Organisation.
A press release issued by the CTO notes that arrivals in October 2017 increased by 13.9% compared to October 2016, from 357,194 in 2016 to 406,870 in 2017.
Expenditure from tourists in October 2017 dropped by 8.6% compared to October 2016 (from € 745 to € 681 per traveller).
The average length of stay in October 2017 recorded a slight rise of 1.1% compared to October 2016 (from 9.2 days to 9.3 days).
Revenue for the period January – October 2017 records an increase of 11.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2016 from € 2228.7 in 2016 to 2493.8 in 2017.
