Crete is TUI’s top holiday destination for European travellers this year and Greece is the second country of choice after Spain, according to the holiday bookings made through the largest leisure, travel and tourism company in the planet.
According to an announcement on Wednesday, TUI vacationers from Europe this year rank Greece’ largest island Crete first in the destination list. The other top destinations include Majorca, Antalya, Rhodes and Larnaca in Cyprus.
Greece is very popular with Germans, Austrians, Swedes, Danes, Norwegians and Finns but also with the Polish, and French.
Three of the five most popular destinations for Germans are found in Greece: Crete, Rhodes and Kos islands.Other most popular holiday regions of TUI holidaymakers from Germany include Majorca and Antalya.
The regional manager for Eastern Mediterrenean of TUI Destination Experiences Michalis Mavropoulos noted that the ranking of TUI’s clientele for 2018 points to Greece rising to become the top tourist destination in Europe. Greece ranks as top destination in seven of 12 TUI markets, especially in Scandinavia, he said.
