Prices of Athens hotels in August are relatively low compared to 8 major capitals of Europe.
According to the Trivago Hotel Index which monitors 40 popular city break destinations around the world, the average price per night for a standard double room in Athenian hotels is 99 euros in August (compared to 107 euros in July and 122 euros in June).
London has the highest average price among European capitals (133 euros), followed by Barcelona (127 euros) and Paris (115 euros).
Hotels in Moscow are the cheapest among these nine European capitals (62 euros).
On a global level, the most expensive cities in August 2018 are Vancouver (212 euros), San Francisco (198 euros) and New York (179 euros). The Cheapest ones are Delhi (48 euros), São Paulo (53 euros) and Lima (53 euros).
Marrakesh recorded the largest increase (+ 24%) compared to August 2017 and Barcelona the largest decline (-24%).
