LNG facilities at Greek port of Patras get ministry approval

The Environment & Energy Ministry gave the go-ahead to the construction of liquid natural gas (LNG) facilities at the southern port of Patras, the central Greek city, on Monday, ANA reports.

The supply and storage facilities project comes under the Poseidon Med II program which is co-funded by the EU and involves Greece, Italy, and Cyprus. It includes six European ports – Piraeus, Patas, Iraklio, Igoumenitsa, Limassol and Venice – and the terminal LNG station at Revythoussa, in the Saronic Gulf.
