Athens & Epidaurus Festival Director Jan Fabre resigns after ‘jiggling penis’ controversy

Belgian stage director and artists Jan Fabre has resigned as Athens & Epidaurus Festival Director after the uproar caused by his decision to stage the ‘Mount Olympus’ performance featuring nude men jiggling their penises on stage and totally exclude all domestic talent or productions in the schedule of plays lined up for the Festival and opt for Belgian-only productions.

There was a barrage of harsh criticism against the Belgian on social media by Greek actors and artists who accused him for turning the festival into a Belgian-centered event.
