A group of five Greek team Olympiacos fans were assaulted and injured, as they left the Athens International Airport, returning from Budapest, where they watched their team participate in the mens’ European water polo final.
The Olympiacos fans were ambushed at the Koropi tolls on the Attiki Odos motoway, with the assailants throwing a flare inside their car, setting it on fire. The victims, while injured lightly in the assault, refused to be hospitalized.
Following the attack, the police launched an investigation, detaining three and arresting five others.
