Greek scientists claim new procedure reverses menopause (video)

Scientists claim that they have discovered a way to help women who have gone through menopause re-start their menstruation cycles, New Science reports.

In Greece, geneticists and gynecologist Konstantinos Sfakianoudis of Genesis Athens claims that this discovery of using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can help stimulate the cells using the woman’s own DNA.

The technique may help re-start menstrual cycles, as it is injected into the ovaries.

PRP will give “hope that menopausal women will be able to get pregnant using their own genetic material,” Sfakianoudis told the magazine.

He cited a patient that hadn’t menstruated for five years by the age of 40 having her first menstruation six months after having PRP injected into her ovaries.
