The Aiketarini Laskaridis Foundation in Piraeus said on Tuesday it is extending until February 5 the exhibition dedicated on 30 objects recovered in the recent underwater excavations on the Antikythera shipwreck, due to continuing demand by the public.
“Anikythera shipwreck: The new archaeological discoveries”, which exhibits new findings from the known archaeological site, has already received more than 2,000 visitors, while 150 students are visiting daily through the foundation’s educational programs.
The underwater expeditions are headed by the Ephorate of Underwater Archaeology with the invaluable support of the private Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
