The “Epidaurus Lyceum” is an international summer school on ancient drama, which will open every year during the Athens and Epidaurus Festival in the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus / Asklipieion. It is aimed at students of the Department of Theatrical Studies, students at Academies of Theatre and Drama Schools and graduates up to two years from all over the world as the language of the course is English.
The aim of Epidaurus School is the research on ancient drama at an experiential level, which will include different methods and interpretive approaches, from the most traditional to the most experimental.
The curriculum which for 2017 is under the theme “The advent of the foreigner” will take place from the 4th to the 19th of July 2017. The “Epidaurus Lyceum” aims to be a meeting point of actors, playwrights, directors, musicians, choreographers, etc., as well as a space of creative coexistence of tradition and innovation, of both the ancient and the contemporary culture.
