The Kavala – Thassos Ephorate of Antiquities and the City of Kavala organize a two-day series of events on Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9, to celebrate the Filippoi Archaeological Site’s induction to UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.
The site’s candidacy for inscription to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list, along with the course that led to its success at the 40th Conference of the World Heritage Committee in Constantinople, in July 2016, will be presented in full on Saturday, April 8, at 19:00 at the Kavala Archaeological Museum. The management plan and scheduled works will also be presented.
On Sunday, April 9, at noon, Minister of Culture, Lydia Koniordou, will unveil the respective signs during a festive event at the entrance of the Filippoi ancient theater.
