Guards working in Greek archaeological sites announced on Thursday a three-hour work stoppage from 8:00-11:00 on July 6, to demand the timely pay of overtime work and the hiring of additional staff.
“We demand the regular payment of Sundays and holidays from the Archaeological Receipts Fund and the immediate hiring of initially 200 permanent-contract guards through ASEP [Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection], for reasons of security and operation of archaeological sites and museums,” their union announced.
