Visitors and revenues in Greek museums recorded a 13.1 percent and 36.4 percent rise respectively in April 2017 compared to the same month in 2016, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Friday.
The number of free admission visitors in November grew by 1.9 percent.
Visitors to archaeological sites showed a 24.2 percent rise and revenues increased by 34.3 percent in April 2017 compared to the same month in 2016. Free admission tickets posted an 18.4 percent increase.
In the period January-April 2017 visitors to Greek museums increased by 14.1 percent, revenues increased by 22.4 percent and free admission tickets increased by 6.5 percent.
In the same period the number of visitors to archaeological sites rose by 15.3 percent and revenues recorded a 28.2 percent increase. Free admission tickets increased by 10 percent.
