Visitors and revenues in Greek museums and sites grow in January-October

Visits to Greek museums and archaeological sites in October 2017 jumped 14 pct and 19.8 pct, respectively, in comparison with the same month in 2016, the Hellenic Statistical Authority ELSTAT reported on Monday, according to ANA.

The rise in total visitors to museums included a 6.7 pct hike in free-admission visitors, while museum revenues increased by 22.3 pct in the same month, the report said. For the nine-month Jan.-Oct. period, there was a 16.5 pct hike in total visitors to museums, a 16.9 pct increase in free-admission visits and a 20.9 pct increase in revenues.

For archaeological sites, ELSTAT announced that there was a 19.8 pct rise in total visitors, a 15.2 pct increase of free-admission visitors and a 21.2 pct jump in revenues during the month of October. Over the nine-month period, meanwhile, there was 18.4 pct increase in total visitors, 21.3 pct increase in free-admission visitors and an 18.4 pct rise in revenues.
