The Greek Australian Short Film Festival (GASFF) is looking for submissions for its next presentation of cinematic talent.
The GASFF is the brainchild of actor Jim Koutsoukos and actor/director Katerina Kotsonis which initiated their project in Melbourne in 2010.
Initially it began as a platform for local films. However, it soon developed into a programming partner of the national Delphi Bank Greek Film Festival, and expanded to two programs, one for national and another for international short films in Melbourne and Sydney.
The requirements for participation are that at least one of the following three provisions are satisfied: one or more of the line creatives (writers, producers, directors) are Greek or of Greek heritage; the theme must be Greek in nature; a lead actor is Greek or of Greek origin.
Last year, the Best National Film was Adult, based on Christos Tsiolkas’ short story Porn 1 starring Greek-Australian actor Victoria Haralabidou and directed by Jamieson Pearce.
Greek entry Memories Of A Doll directed by Michail Charalampidis clinched the title of Best International Film.
