Four dramas by acclaimed Greek playwrights will be performed for the first time in English by American and Greek-American actors at the Eclipses Group Theater New York (EGTNY) on May 5 and 6.
The production is a joint project of EGTNY, a nonprofit organization that serves as a cultural bridge between Greece and the U.S., and Irene Mountraki, head of the International Relations Department of the National Theater of Greece and creator of the Greek Play Project.
The four plays are: In Chorus by Dimitris Dimitriadis directed by Ioanna Katsarou, translation by Theodora Papachristofilou- Loukas; Andromache by Akis Dimou directed by Ioanna Katsarou translation by Dimitris Bonaros; Seaweeds by Penny Fylaktaki, directed by Dimitris Bonaros, translation by Penny Fylaktaki; as well as The Blind Spot by Yianni Mavritsakis, directed by Katerina Alexaki, translation by Christina Polychroniou.
