The Diachronic Museum of Larissa in the town of Mezourlo and the Archaeological Museum of Kythera won top recognitions in at the 5th European Museums in Short competition, an international contest for the best short videos shot by, for and with museums, ANA reports.
The Larissa museum won first place (Museums in Short 2018 award) for its video “Tracing the Footsteps of Human Society”. The Kythera island’s museum was the audience favorite with “I Am the Lion of Kythera”. The award ceremony was held in the Slovenian town of Piran.
The award ceremony was held in the Slovenian town of Piran. A total of 49 museums from 20 European countries took part, and 12 finalists were selected in three categories: promotional, exhibits and storytelling.
The exhibits prize was won by the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam (“Seeing with a Japanese Eye”), and the storytelling award went to the Musee des Civilisations de l’Europe et de la Mediterranee in Marseille (“Rural Worlds”).
The Kythera island’s museum was the audience favorite with “I Am the Lion of Kythera”.
